I love painting cities, especially New York, London and Venice. I would like to experiment more with collage, I think this could add to the vibrancy of the New York paintings. I started to paint about 15 years ago using watercolour and Arche rough paper, progressing to Bockingford and now use Fabriano HP paper. This is quite a tricky paper to use, very unpredictable with watercolour but sometimes you can achieve unusual results.

Artists who inspire me are the Impressionists and presently Bernard Vogel, a German artist, and John Piper.
