Background

Enid Fairhead won a scholarship to Homsey School of Art and worked as a book designer for the BBC and various publishers. She was Art Director for Collins Children's Books for many years finally working as a freelance designer and publishing consultant. Painting has also been most important in her life and she has exhibited at the Royal Academy and Mall Galleries in London, in the Home Counties and on the Continent. Living in a rural part of Hertfordshire, her oils and pastels express her profound love of nature and the English landscape around her. Subjects further afield and abroad also provide inspiration, in particular the glowing warmth of the Mediterranean.
