Lorenzo Rizzi

Lorenzo Rizzi was born in Venice and he lived there during his formative years. He began painting at the age of 12 but, although he showed great promise, his family was unable to give him the art school training that he hoped for. However, he remained fascinated with the local scene. He was able to work with several notable Venetian painters and found work as a commercial artist and scenographer in Venice's many theatres.More recently, Lorenzo studied etching at the University of Hertfordshire.

His work encompasses all subject matter but Venice and the Italian landscape remain Lorenzo's greatest sources of delight and inspiration. He paints almost instinctively, using the fluid medium of watercolour.At home in Hertfordshire, he likes to paint the local scenery as well as still life, flowers and the human figure.

Lorenzo exhibits around London, Essex and Hertfordshire and his work hangs in many private collections in the U.K., mainland Europe and the U.S.A.
